POSITIVE PARENTING AWARENESS MONTH IN CALIFORNIA
On January 13, 2020, ACR 140 (Stone) passed unanimously out of the State Assembly, declaring January 2020 as the first annual Positive Parenting Awareness Month in California. The resolution was subsequently passed by the Senate.
Representatives from 11 counties that implement positive parenting programs advocated for this statewide resolution, and many traveled to the state Capitol to witness this historic vote.
Since then, the California legislature has continued to show bipartisan support for positive parenting, passing the statewide PPAM resolution each year.
In January 2023, Triple P leaders and advocates across California celebrated the 4th annual statewide Positive Parenting Awareness Month, capping off the month with the passage of ACR 4 (Addis).
